UX Designer, Wavie

Customer Experience | Remote | Full Time

Working at Wavie

Wavie can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Assuming you have eligible working rights and a sufficient time zone overlap with your team, you can choose to work remotely or return to an office as they reopen (unless it’s necessary for your role to be performed in the office). Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

Wavie's mission is to deliver happiness. Not only to customers but to try make the world a better place and push innovation to the max. Our tools were built to assist students and staff within the education sector. We also work on some projects which utilise our technology to help others e.g. Wavie Village.

Our products need to handle information at scale, and innovate traditional systems. We're looking for candidates who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day.

We're a rapidly growing software company that does not rely on a sales team, so the surfaces across our products are the growth engine of our business—and we need you to help make it amazing

With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance UX solutions.

On your first day, we'd love for you to have:

  • An updated and polished portfolio that demonstrates strong user experience and interaction design informed by empathy for the user. This is key for us.
  • 3+ years of professional UX design experience under your belt, ideally for e-commerce and purchasing in a B2B setting
  • Demonstrated love of the open iterative design process – constantly sketching, showing work in progress, validating with customers and data, iterating, shipping, learning, growing, and shipping customer value some more
  • Strong facilitation and cross-functional collaboration skills: you can demonstrate the ability to work across multiple teams, solicit and synthesize feedback, and facilitate design discussions
  • Experience with strategies for utilizing data to inform awesome digital experiences
  • A strong teamwork mindset

Bonus points for:

  • Experience using behavioral economics and psychology perspectives to achieve established customer and business outcomes
  • Experience using Service Design as a means of improving end-to-end experiences
  • Experience with Systems design thinking and practices
